Description[]
Black Wind is a tamable Elite enemy found inside the Carleon Manor instance, which is located within Hakanas Highlands. He only appears on Heroic difficulty. The player needs to possess the Carleon Stallion Pedigree in order to tame Black Wind.
“Black Wind was one of many magnificent horses that rode in Gastra's war a hundred years ago. When his rider fell in battle, they say the horse kept fighting until his own death. Khabimists resurrected the beast with foul magic and bound him to Carleon Manor. Despite this, the steed might be swayed if he thought his old master had returned as well. With a convincing copy of his pedigree and a great deal of courage, he could be brought to heel.”
- ― From Keadin's "The Great Horses"
How to Tame[]
In order to tame Black Wind, the player must obtain the Carleon Stallion Pedigree, it is a crafted item and the recipe itself drops off the final boss within the Manor. As for some of the other parts of the recipe they drop off the 2 optional bosses, the Butler and the Chef, which are located in side doors off from the main one. Those doors are only available from Elite difficulty and up. Once the pedigree has been obtained, remember that Black Wind only appears on Heroic, and is an Elite. It is wise to clear the room before engaging with the steed, so not to be attacked while attempting to tame him, as with any other Elite, lowering his HP will increase your success chance in taming him, and not having to acquire another pedigree to try again.
